Aren’t They Cute?

When scientists sequenced the chimp genome in 2005, it confirmed that chimpanzees are our closest living relatives. Of course, they’re cute; they look like us. They have big ears like the Europeans, long toes like the English, a bad accent like the French, small noses like the Africans, short legs like the Japanese, large testicles like the Russians, small dícks like the Australians and an IQ to match the Americans. laugh

These clever animals can be taught to use tools to build their own shelters and we like to think of them as cute and huggable but those who think they are peace-loving creatures will have another think coming. mumbling

The truth is that they are cruel and aggressive fighters that form gangs to plunder neighboring tribes in search of food, females and/or territory, leaving behind only devastation and maimed opponents. Any infant chimps taken with their mothers during such a raid are simply killed and sometimes eaten. shock

It is estimated that as much as 50% of all male chimpanzees are being hunted down by other males and killed. And they do not only fight neighboring tribes, they also form factions within their own tribe and kill one another. Such killings normally happen to settle leadership and/or mating rights. dancing

When we compare chimpanzee behavior with human behavior it is easy to believe that chimpanzees share more than 98% of their DNA with us. And it is even easier to see where our willingness to kill and to wage war comes from.mumbling

A real story of a place where water of a river turn red during a mensuration of goddess durga

Kamakhya temple is one of the oldest Shakti peetha in India. It is situated on the Nilachal hill in Guwahati,Assam.

The story behind Kamakhya temple is quite interesting. It's about Hindu God Shiva and Sati.

Once Sati fraught with Shiva to attend her father's great Yagna, where they both were not invited purposefully. Sati went alone to the Yagna. There she was insulted by her father and also he spoke ill about Shiva. Unable to bear the insult Sati jumped in to the sacrificial fire of the Yagna. Shiva got to know about the incident,he couldn't control his anger. Carrying his wife's burnt corpse he went on a rampage with his dance of destruction. Which we all know as Tandav. All God and Goddess were in fear. They all went to Vishnu to get any help. Then Vishnu sent his Chakra and cut burnt body of Sati,in order to calm Shiva.

It's believed that Sati's body parts fell in 108 different places across India. Today they are known as Shakti peetha.

The place where her womb and va*ina fell,is what today's Kamakhya temple.

The Ambubachi Mela is an annual mela celebrated during assamese month Ahaar. It is the celebration of the yearly menstruation course of goddess Kamakhya. It is believed that during that time the water of Brahmaputra near the temple turns red. There is no idol of the deity inside the temple. But she is worshipped in the form of a YONI like stone instead over which a natural spring flows.

This is the story which I have heard from childhood. Apart from this, it's a very beautiful and peaceful place to visit.

Thank you.

SAY IT LOUD....

As rockets fly in the Middle East, India and Pakistan growl at each other, and American and European troops are where they shold have never been.....

As the ice melts, and the seas rise, with the storms that blow and the rains that drown......

As we indulge ourselves in the excesses of the western world, while children die elsewhere without even being held......

And yet the light of hope brings a new dawn......

A new understanding, a new beginning.

With the dawn of a brand new year, in whicever God you may believe or not......

Raise your faces to the light and with voices raised....

let the whole world hear.....

YES WE CAN

for we are but one and the same.....

children of the stars......

Yesterday I had my fun. I'm paying for it today.

The camera I have been using for the past 3 years is a Canon 700D.
It's been an excellent camera and I have sold nature pictures worldwide.
But, I figure that it was time to buy myself a Christmas present and do an upgrade to a 750D.
While there's several advantages, to me it's an upgrade in resolution from 18mp to 24mp.
So, I actually bought 2 of them and will keep one as a back-up in case anything goes wrong
with the initial one.

Both of the new cameras have been patiently waiting for me to pick them up at my P.O. box.
Yesterday, since it was mostly sunny (albeit cold), was the day I chose to pick them up and try them out.
I had previously bought 4 batteries and a charger for this model, so I had a couple of fully charged batteries with me.

Mostly, I took pictures of black cormorants. But, as luck would have it, I saw a couple of bald eagles.
Indeed, I got quite close to a female perched near the top of a tree near a bridge.
Thus, I got a lot of shots of her perched and later cleaning off her talons in Carnegie Lake.

I met another photographer and he emailed me this morning anxious to see my webpage.
I also met a couple of women and mentioned that they had just missed a bald eagle.
They asked if I got pictures, which I then showed them.
One of the women actually asked, "how did you know, that you would see a bald eagle to photograph today". She was serious. So, I replied that "I made an appointment through New Jersey Wildlife".
I waited about 5 seconds for effect and then said "just kidding. I didn't know. It's very random. I just got lucky."

It was very cold, and although I had lots of layers on, I ended up with pneumonia, which I am still battling. At home I found a unopened package of Ricola natural herb cough drops that I must have bought several years ago and probably have consumed a dozen of those so far. They help somewhat.
But, although I ate dinner, I only have had a banana and several sips of water since. I'm just not hungry and my throat is sore from hacking up phlegm. Sorry for too much information, but those are the facts. I don't feel very good. sigh
It's about 1:30 pm and I'm going back to sleep, which I have to do sitting up, so I don't choke. wave

They Do Not Know Any Other Type Of Man

"Psychologists say that love is nothing but a foreplay to sex. They are right – because they have no other specimen to study. They study you and then they come to conclude that love is nothing but a foreplay – just creating a situation in which sex can happen, nothing else. So when sex has happened, love disappears. It is just like when you feel hungry you gravitate toward food and look at food with enchanted eyes. But when your hunger is satiated, you look away from the food. All the enchantment is lost.
"So when you love your wife or your husband, the love is just an etiquette to enter into sex – because it will be too rude to start… So it just plays like a lubricating agent. And when sex is satisfied, the husband moves to his own side of the bed and goes to sleep. He is finished; all the enchantment is gone. It will come again only when he feels a type of hunger. Psychologists say that love is nothing but a foreplay – just a mannerism. And they are right, because they do not know any other type of man."

My blessing, today my daughter was flown in rom Frisco and will drive with me back to the West Coast

Some people count their blessings based on material wealth. I guess there is nothing wrong with that really.

For me, I count my blessings with my health (very active at 67, still do 100 push up a day), but most especially the love of my children, and my friends.

I have decided to go back and live permanently in California as I am now fully retired.

I will be very close to all my children and grandchildren and live very modestly and simply. Of course, I still hope to travel the world as I am accustomed to and just smell the roses and enjoy nature which I love very much.

My youngest daughter offered to drive with me and I am more than thrilled with this adventure.

We are leaving today, it takes at least two days before we get back home. I will not be able to baby sit this blog but thanks all for your read and or comment if any.heart wings
